(1) Box 1, "Academic Materials." 55 folders containing lecture notes and outlines, experiment descriptions, lab manuals and worksheets, syllabi, exams, examples of graded student work, field trip agendas, Ph.D. dissertation work, and other materials from classes taught and taken by Arnold. Covers courses in Biology, Zoology, and Paleontology, primarily from the University of California, Berkeley; (2) Box 2, "Equipment and Materials." 19 folders containing schematics, manuscripts, illustrations, descriptions, catalogs, and notes for lab and research equipment of Arnold's own design. Types of apparatus include specimen collection, preparation, sampling, cytology, and presentation; (3) Box 3, "Conferences and Correspondence." 11 folders containing notes, speeches, itineraries, and correspondence regarding Arnold's attendance and participation in a number of conferences and symposiums; (4) Box 4, "Publications and Manuscripts." 16 folders containing notes, drafts, research, reference materials, manuscripts, and finished copies of articles and publications authored by Arnold.
